Where would you go if you were lost and scared with nowhere to turn? If you were a homeless pet looking for shelter in Monroe County the last few months, you'd be out of luck...UNTIL NOW! The luck of Monroe's needy animals is changing. We are the Animal Welfare Society of Monroe (AWSOM), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and we're here to help. AWSOM is made up of Monroe County Volunteers - your neighbors, friends and co-workers. We came together because we saw the desperate need for an animal shelter in our area. We've come together because we care. Now that we have opened the shelter on Godfrey Ridge Drive in Stroudsburg we need supplies, volunteers and of course funds. But we're not stopping there. Our next goal is to realize the dream of a Monroe Spay and Neuter clinic. The most humane thing we can do for homeless animals is to reduce their numbers, and that starts with spay and neuter.
